CEC Meeting – May 6, 2008

I. County Chair Carla Vela called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. She asked all those present to please observe a moment of silence. Those present then recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

II. John Courage moved that since there was a quorum present the rules be suspended so that the applications for Precinct Chair who were not elected in March to be accepted. He further moved the Precinct Coordinators be seated as full members of the CEC. There was a second. During discussion Angie Flores asked if all applicants were present. It was explained they did not need to be present. Jeannette Hernandez asked if there was the appropriate quorum present and was told yes there is. A point of order was stated because there is a challenge concerning Precinct 3093. The Chair said a committee will be appointed to address this issue. Since there was no further discussion the vote was taken and the motion carried.

III. There was a motion and second to adjourn. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m.

Following adjournment all new Precinct Chairs came forward and were sworn into

office.
