Please arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. Please RSVP to this email address irmguti@yahoo.com or my cell phone 210-274-0077 if you are planning to attend. Redistricting
State Representative Garnet F. Coleman (HD-147) sent a letter on April 29 to the United States Department of Justice, challenging the valididy of HB 150, the redistricting plan approved by the Texas House of Representatives, and describing how it violated the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by diluting the ability of African Americans, Latinos, and other language minorities to elect a candidate of their choice.

Protect 6-Day Delivery, 80,000 Postal Jobs!
July 20 - The American Postal Workers Union is fighting to preserve 6-day postal delivery. H.R. 2434, The Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, 2012 supports the continuation of 6 day delivery, but Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) is attempting to strip that language from H.R. 2434. Please call your Congressman immediately and ask him to urge the members of the Rules Committee to preserve the language in H.R. 2434. If you are not sure who your Congressman is, go to www.house.gov. Below is a list of the 4 Members of Congress who represent San Antonio:
TX-20, Charles Gonzalez: 202-225-3236
TX-21, Lamar Smith: 202-225-4236
TX-23, Francisco "Quico" Canseco: 202-225-4511
TX-28, Henry Cuellar: 202-225-1640
We all need to do everything possible to help preserve 6 day delivery service and the loss of up to 80,000 carriers. H.R. 2434 will help to do that, but we need to be sure that the language remains intact. Please take the time to call your Congressman, and do your part to save 6 day delivery and protect the jobs of carriers.

Protect Social Security & Medicare
Give Congressman Canseco a piece of your mind!
Republican Congressman Quico Canseco (CD-23), who voted for the Ryan budget and the privatization of Medicare, and who said he will vote against raising the debt ceiling despite the resulting economic chaos, recently held town meetings. If you missed them, call and tell him what you think of his disastrous policies! DC: (202) 225-4511; SA-Southside: (210) 922-7826; SA-Northside: (210) 561-8855. ...read more...
